About IFSA
IFSA is the largest network of forestry and forest-related sciences students in the world: a non-governmental, not-for-profit and non-religious organization entirely run by students for students. Since 1973, it has connected thousands of students from over 54 countries, encouraging them to engage in regional and international meetings and explore ecological, cultural and operational differences in forest management. Through their involvement with IFSA, students gain a broader educational experience and perspective on forestry at a local and international scale. IFSA also acts as a platform for students to participate in international decision making processes and international congresses, thanks to its partnership with major international forestry organizations.

About APRM
Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting (APRM) is a significant event which is held to gather IFSA LCs in Asia-Pacific area every year. The meeting was originated from 2010 1st Asia Regional Meeting (ARM) in Taiwan. In 2013, two regions in IFSA-- Asia and Oceania merged together to form Asia-Pacific region, and the first APRM was held in Korea last year.
In this meeting, we hope to achieve four objectives as listed below:
- to encourage academic discussion about regional forestry issues and current trends
-to build partnerships among all LCs, which improves the efficiency of IFSA work in Asia-Pacific region
-to introduce some information about forest resources, ecosystems and forest management strategies of the host country
-to allow all participants from different countries to share their cultural experiences with one another to promote friendships
It is a great honor to organize APRM in Taiwan again after 2010. Therefore, the whole OC (organizing committee) team will spare no effort to give you a wonderful experience in Taiwan. During the event, there will be forestry-related lecture, exciting field trips to various ecological attractions, an academic poster presentation and discussions, a splendid international night, a mouthwatering night market tour, and a unique experience of aboriginal culture in Taiwan, all of which will be arranged carefully to make(let) you learn more about Taiwan.
In the end, on behalf of APRM-2015 Taiwan OC team, I would like to sincerely invite all IFSA forest students in Asia-Pacific to take part in this event. I really can’t wait for your visit to Taiwan!
